Baseball HALL OF FAME icons will be shown every week during the MLB season, it is fitting that one of the recent HALL OF FAME candidates for 2007 should start off the first of the weekly HALL OF FAME Icon heroes of American Baseball.

Yankee Southpaw, who won 8 World Series Championships, also had Yogi Berra as Catcher. When Whitey and Yogi were together as a Unit, they were the best in BASEBALL.

Ted Williams played for BOSTON RED SOX from 1939 till 1960 and became the best BASEBALL PLAYER during the war years to the 1950s. He had an all time career of 2,654 hits, 1,839 in RBIs, 521 HRs and an impressive .344 Batting lifetime average.

The all American Hero of the 1950s and 1960s Mickey Mantle, born in the district of Mayes County, Oklahoma in 1931, joined New York Yankees on a minor league contract in 1949 and then after the first spring training joining the Yankees, Mickey was regarded a legend before his first MLB at bat!!!!!

Cal Ripken JR, who will forever be remembered as the one who took over the daily task of playing non stop Baseball for Baltimore Orioles for over 15 years to finally overtake the Yankees legend Lou Gehrig's 2,130 concessive games which was supposed to have stand for all time!! Cal recently was inducted to the Hall of Fame on 29th July 2007.

Tony Gwynn played Baseball for San Diego Padres for 20 Years and was a great favourite with the fans, played 3rd Base and voted in every All Star game for 10 Years. A great hitter during the 1990s with an average .300 plus. Tony Gwynn known as 'Mr Padre' was recently inducted to the Hall of Fame on 29th July 2007.
